Work Order and Safety App for Power Linesmen
Challenge
The end client was an electrical power distribution company based. They needed a tablet app for their field workers as a replacement for an existing paper-based process.
Maintainance of power lines is a high-risk activity, and the app is designed to ensure that linesmen follow appropriate safety protocols before beginning work. The app is intended to be used in non-ideal situations, for instance, in the dark during a storm, and in bright sunlight.
Approach
The approach was to create a style guide from a pre-existing app, create a simple design system, and use it to produce high-fidelity wireframes for review by business stakeholders and testing with users. The app was iterated 2-3 times upon based on feedback.
